A client from the Midwest, and who owns an impressive art collection, was building a second home in Vail, Colorado. I was commissioned to design several pieces for their new home, one of which was the main entry. He and his wife had flown out to be there when we installed the entry, as he was most excited about the cast and fabricated bronze door. He came out as we were uncrating the door itself and getting ready to install it. As we stood the door up, I turned to look at him. I don’t think I will ever forget the look on his face and his simple hand gesture, indicating to me his complete delight and approval. Nothing more was said as he walked inside where he, his wife, and the architect waited for the installation to be completed.
